Description from the seller

A particularly decorative and refined pair of Chinese cloisonné vases in the classic double gourde shape (Hulu).
The vases are richly decorated with fine enameling in vivid colors on a turquoise-blue background.
The panels feature elegant blossom branches with birds, a traditional Chinese motif symbolizing harmony, prosperity, and happiness.
The vases are fitted with beautiful gilded bronze dragon-shaped handles and a decorative rim. They rest on matching carved wooden pedestals, giving the whole a stately appearance.
Cloisonné is an ancient technique in which fine metal wires are used to create compartments, which are then filled with colored enamel and polished. This yields the characteristic rich, glossy surface.
These vases are believed to date from the first half of the 20th century and form an impressive decorative pair for a classic or eclectic interior.
Perfect as a statement piece on a console, mantel, or sideboard.
