This lithograph was created for the portfolio celebrating the completion of the Paris Opera ceiling by Marc Chagall in 1962; on the back of the lithograph is the first maquette created by Chagall, also printed lithographically. This color lithograph vividly embodies the joyful vision of the opera that Chagall had.
