Twilight | Paul Wunderlich
This work is part of the "Twilight" series. It is a portfolio work based on images by photographer Karin Szekessy, expressed in a style that combines surrealism and eroticism.
Artist Profile:
Born in 1927 in Eberswalde, near Berlin, Germany. Studied at the Hamburg School of Fine Arts and later taught printmaking techniques at university. Began lithography and oil painting in earnest in 1959. His lithographs gained attention in Paris in 1962, after which he continued to produce works primarily in prints, as well as oil, watercolor, and sculpture. Held his first solo exhibitions abroad in Miami and San Francisco in 1963. Received numerous international art awards. His work depicts human and animal images with anatomical precision, creating a unique sense of eros and humor through metamorphosis. Died in 2010 in Saint-Pierre-de-Vassols.
