A fine 17th-century etching on laid paper, by Gabriel Perelle (1604–1677), a celebrated French engraver and draftsman specialized in classical landscapes. The scene depicts a wide rural landscape animated by shepherds and flocks in the foreground, with a fortified village dominating the valley below. The style is characterized by a crisp line and a skilful handling of light and shade, typical of the French Baroque landscape school.

The condition is good; the paper shows a slight darkening and some traces of foxing. The printing is very good, a beautiful print ready to be framed.

Pregevole acquaforte su carta vergata della fine del XVII secolo, opera di Gabriel Perelle (1604–1677), celebre incisore e disegnatore francese specializzato in vedute classicheggianti. La scena raffigura un ampio paesaggio rurale animato da pastori e greggi in primo piano, con un borgo fortificato che domina la vallata sottostante. Lo stile è caratterizzato da un segno nitido e una sapiente gestione dei chiaroscuri, tipica della scuola paesaggistica barocca francese.
Lo stato di conservazione è buono la carta presenta una leggera imbrunitura e alcune trecce di foxing. L'inchiostratura molto buona, bellissima stampa pronta per essere incorniciata
