Description from the seller
This figurative oil painting by Tony Warrens shows a woman, lying under a brush with paint on her body. The artist Tonny Warrens, based in Kemzeke–Stekene (B), attended various academic programs from his fourteenth year, without ever completing any of them in full. To this day he remains distinctly wary of any form of formal art education. Nevertheless he has earned several distinctions and prizes, until he realized that past successes do not guarantee the quality of new work — and that competitions are ultimately mainly for horses. Since 2000 Tonny Warrens has been a full-time painter.
Since 1973 Warrens has exhibited frequently both domestically and abroad, including Belgium, the Netherlands, England, Germany, Monaco, Spain and Hungary. He was also regularly a standout at prestigious art fairs such as the Holland Art Fair in Den Haag, Ahoy Rotterdam, Lineart in Ghent, Eccentric in Knokke, Kunst & Luxe in Enghien, and various fairs in Dortmund, Lyon and Marseille.
Viewing is of course possible. In addition we have our own in-house framing workshop, celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this, of course we would be happy to hear from you.
