This colorful lithograph entitled “Overijssel” is a work by Corneille (1922–2010), one of the co-founders of the CoBrA movement (along with, among others, Karel Appel and Constant). His work is characterized by vibrant colors, playful forms, and recurring themes such as birds, women, and exotic landscapes.

This lithograph, printed in 2004, is numbered from 200 copies and is in excellent condition. The work has never been framed, which has helped the colors stay particularly fresh.

Corneille’s art remains globally beloved for its expressive style and optimistic appearance — Overijssel is a fine example of his late, mature period in which color and imagination are central.
