LeYack presents a 40 × 40 cm hand-signed giclée on canvas, titled Between Takes, a limited edition of 20 from France, delivered ready to frame with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
Description from the seller
A 1950s American cinema set. A domestic kitchen set — yellow wallpaper, white stove, checkerboard tiling — staged in the middle of a studio cluttered with 35mm cameras, cables, metal scaffolding. A woman in a floral apron eats a sandwich alone at a kitchen table, during the break. The camera on the left watches her. She ignores it.
Le Yack paints the fundamental paradox of cinema: the world’s most elaborate fiction is shot in industrial hangars where people eat sandwiches between takes. This woman is an actress, or a script girl, or a dresser — we don’t know. What we know is that she’s eating and that it’s real, and that everything around her is fake.
