Scultura ad Altorilievo, raffigurante l'apoteosi di Augusto. 
La tecnica scultorea utilizzata dall'artista realizza un 'opera in cuile figure emergono dal piano di fondo con un forte risalto, staccandosi per più della metà del loro spessore o con parti a tutto tondo.
L'apoteosi di Augusto, avvenuta il 17 settembre del 14 d.C. dopo la sua morte (19 agosto 14 d.C.), sancì ufficialmente la divinizzazione del primo imperatore romano, elevandolo al rango di Divus Augustus. Questo processo propagandistico, che seguiva la scia di Giulio Cesare, consolidò il culto imperiale, celebrandolo con un tempio sul Palatino e l'istituzione dei Sodales Augustales.
