Lot of 16 ornithological chromolithographs – Fratelli von Wright – 1929 Edition
Elegant lot composed of 16 ornithological prints taken from the famous Svenska Fåglar by the von Wright brothers, among the most important European naturalist illustrators of the 19th century.

Wilhelm von Wright (1810–1887)
Ferdinand von Wright (1822–1906)
The plates reproduce with extraordinary scientific precision several species of birds, depicted in the field and rendered with great artistic sensitivity. The original work is considered one of the greatest masterpieces of ornithological illustration.
The present prints belong to the refined 1929 edition, produced with chromolithographic technique, which yields bright colors and sharp details.
