- Estate of the Kuno Schiefer family
Kuno Schiefer (Stuttgart, 1948 – São José dos Campos, 1992) was a German painter and graphic artist who spent most of his life working in Brazil. His oeuvre includes paintings, drawings and prints, with his Brazilian period particularly characterized by influences from tropical nature and the landscape. His work was noticed early and exhibited in major galleries in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. From 1985 he alternated between Brazil and Berlin, which had a significant influence on his artistic development.
In his work, Schiefer developed from figurative representations of everyday objects to expressive, often abstract interpretations of vegetation and nature. His paintings are characterized by intense colors, a strong sense of light and an almost musical rhythm in composition and brushwork. Through the interplay between Europe and Brazil, a personal visual language emerged, in which he gradually freed himself from figuration and arrived at a more introspective and free painting.
Viewings are of course possible. In addition, we have our own in-house picture framing shop, celebrating its 85th anniversary. We also make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
