Description from the seller
1991 Gilera CX 125 — NEW OLD STOCK - 5 KM.
The 125 CX was released in 1991. It used the same engine as the MXR. It was a liquid-cooled two-stroke engine with a power of nearly 30 hp, fed by a 32 mm Dell'Orto carburetor. But the 125 CX was mainly intended as a technological showpiece for the brand.
The fairing is wind-tunnel designed to ensure good airflow.
The classic telescopic fork has been replaced by a system called SSS (Single Suspension System), designed by Paioli. It preserves the principle of a conventional fork, but there is only one arm connected to the wheel, on the left side. At the rear is a single-sided swingarm.
The lens-shaped rims are Grimeca and contribute to the motorcycle’s futuristic look. Seen from the right, the bike does not appear to be connected to its wheels.
The brakes consist at the front of a 300 mm disk and at the rear of a 240 mm disk, both clamped by calipers with two pistons.
Power: ± 30 HP
Top speed: ± 170 km/h
Transmission: 6-speed, chain drive
Travel back in time to 1991; this Gilera comes straight from the showroom as if time had stood still for 35 years.
After a small earthquake in 1991, the Italian dealer decided to close his business and literally left the stock in his warehouse.
In 2025 we discovered this showroom and added a few units to our collection.
Documents: Original Italian documents present. First registration in Italy 06-2004.
Condition: In very neat, undamaged condition
Mechanical: The engine has never run and is therefore in new condition.
Drive/ fluids: The engine has never been run to readiness. For possible operation, a service and age-related parts such as rubber hoses must be replaced.
New yellow fork seals are included with the sale.
Summary: The motorcycle is mechanically intact and original in all components
2 original keys and original Italian registration document present.
Location: Venray, Netherlands.
Transport: Shipping must be arranged and paid by the buyer; assistance can be offered

Vehicle registration
Buyers are responsible for vehicle's registration, not the seller or Catawiki.
Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
