The work was created by the German artist Hans Sünderhauf (1929-2009), painter, graphic artist and sculptor, who is regarded as one of the leading figures in the Kreuzberg bohemian art scene of Berlin. Together with artist Kurt Mühlenhaupt, he was part of the artists' group Berliner Malerpoeten.
After studying painting at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Berlin, Sünderhauf worked from his Kreuzberg studio until 2005.
