Rare original engraving by Egidius Sadeler after Agostino Carracci from 1589, taken from a painting by Tintoretto, located in the Scuola Grande di San Rocco in Venice. The engraving consists of 3 sheets joined together.

Etching and burin engraving of very large dimensions: 51 x 119 cm

Left sheet in an era-called impression, central and right sheets slightly later impressions but still printed on laid paper. In decent condition after a massive restoration of tears and gaps (see the photo carefully, even in transmitted light).

The crowded scene depicts the moment of the crucifixion of Christ, with the two thieves,Mounted soldiers, and various biblical figures including the Virgin Mary.

Acquaforte e bulino di grandissime dimensioni: 51 x 119 cm

Foglio di sinistra in tiratura coeva, foglio centrale e di destra leggermente postumi ma comunque stampati su carta vergata. In discrete condizioni di conservazione dopo un massiccio restauro di strappi e lacune (vedere attentamente foto, anche in controluce).

La scena affollata rappresenta il momento della crocifissione di Cristo, con i due ladroni, soldati a cavallo, e varie figure bibliche tra cui la Vergine Maria.
