Description from the seller
This work is by the Dutch photographer Hans Wilschut (Ridderkerk, 1966), who focuses on industrial and urban landscapes. His background as a painter is clearly visible in his photographic style, where composition and light play an important role. Through the use of long shutter speeds, his work often features an almost extraterrestrial, painterly light. The absence of people reinforces the feeling of stillness, giving his images a detached yet poetic and romantic atmosphere. The modern city is thus depicted as a universal landscape, detached from its inhabitants and daily life.
In this case Wilschut has captured the Frisian city IJlst, in which the distinctive atmosphere of his work clearly comes to the fore.
Dimensions: 76 x 99 cm
Dimensions with frame: 79 x 102 cm
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, of course we would be happy to hear from you.
