This portrait is created by the artistic duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and shows Lineke Rijxman, the Dutch actress and director.
Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin have, since 1986, formed one of the most influential duos within international fashion and art photography. Their work regularly appears in leading fashion magazines and global advertising campaigns, while they also produce autonomous artistic work. Through their distinctive blend of fashion, portraiture and digital image manipulation, they have developed a wholly distinctive visual style in which glamour, estrangement and perfection come together.
The duo live and work in New York City and have worked for fashion houses including Chanel, Calvin Klein, Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu. They also produced campaigns for Louis Vuitton under creative director Virgil Abloh. In 2023 they photographed Taylor Swift for Time Magazine's Person of the Year covers. Additionally they directed the music video for Lady Gaga's 2013 song Applause and created several single covers for her album Artpop.
