Claude Weisbuch (1927-2014) - Les violonistes

Two gestural compositions depicting a violinist in full motion, in the expressive style characteristic of Weisbuch — swift strokes, taut body, dramatic depending shadow. The two pieces form a coherent set around the same subject treated from two different angles, one on a white background, the other on a blue-gray background. Claude Weisbuch (1927–2014), a painter, draftsman and printmaker from Lorraine, is a laureate of the National Critics Award and a member of the Société des Peintres Graveurs Français.
