Walter Valentini (Pergola, 22 October 1928 – Milan, 20 May 2022) was an Italian painter, sculptor and engraver, internationally recognized in the field of graphics and printmaking.
In Urbino, he is captivated by the charm of art and humanistic culture: he reads the texts of the great Renaissance intellectuals, such as Baldassare Castiglione and Pietro Bembo, studies the architecture of Francesco di Giorgio Martini and Luciano Laurana, and remains amazed by the Flagellation of Piero della Francesca, a painting kept at the Palazzo Ducale. Here arises his desire to deepen his knowledge of perspective and the golden ratio.
