Description from the seller
Exceptional exemplar of the prestige art book "Gantner or Transparency" (text by Roger Munier, illustrations by Bernard Gantner).
Published in 1972, it is an original high bibliophilic edition.
Rarity (Copy no. 83 / 150): This work benefited from a strictly limited print run of 150 copies worldwide on grand Vélin de Rives paper.
Unique feature: The title page bears an original handwritten dedication signed by Bernard Gantner himself, dated 1978
Complete in sheets (loose gatherings) under a soft, bound cover. It contains the text as well as the 8 original color lithographs, all signed in pencil by the artist.
Dimensions: Large format In-4 (34 x 28 cm).
Style & Period: Poetic and pared-down realism characteristic of the New School of Paris.
This work corresponds to the period of Gantner’s full artistic maturity (gold medal of the Salon des artistes français in 1971).
Condition: The interior of the volume, the text, and the 8 lithographic plates are in excellent condition, very fresh.
The outer card box with the outer slipcase is insolated (natural discoloration due to light on the original cardboard), which is common but has perfectly protected the work inside.
