Artist biography: Nguyen Robert 1958.
Born in 1958 in Bên Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work stands out for a unique fusion of Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a very young age, he was fascinated by the rural architecture of his environment, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of floating markets, the shadows cast by water palms—so many elements that would become the foundation of his visual language.

Having always lived in his native region, Nguyen Robert over the decades developed a deeply contemporary, modern, and decisively architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while preserving a poetic sensibility inherent to Vietnamese culture.

His dual heritage, Franco-Vietnamese, enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the boldness of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul lends softness, spirituality, and fluidity to his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets timelessness, where geometry dialogues with light, creating works of great visual impact.

Recognized for his ability to transform everyday life into abstract landscapes, Nguyen Robert is today regarded as one of the singular voices of contemporary Delta Mekong painting. He continues his work in his studio in Bên Tre, surrounded by the landscapes that shaped his identity, and he continues to exhibit in several galleries in Asia and Europe, captivating collectors and art enthusiasts seeking deeply modern, structured, and vibrant works.
