Description from the seller

Miguel Ybáñez, born in 1946 in Madrid, is a Spanish artist who lives and works in Amsterdam and Empordà, Spain. His work is characterized by colorful geometric abstractions that evoke dreamlike landscapes and question our perception of everyday forms. Ybáñez aims to blur the boundaries between past and present, and between 'high' and 'low' art.

Throughout his career, Ybáñez has exhibited widely in Europe and South America. His solo exhibitions include, among others, the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Rio de Janeiro, the Museo de Arte Moderno de São Paulo, the Singer Museum in Laren, and the Museo Español de Arte Contemporáneo in Madrid. In addition, he participated in group exhibitions such as 'Spanish Art Tomorrow', which was shown at the Bronx Art Museum in New York, the Corcoran Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Metropolitan Museum in Miami.

His recent solo exhibition, 'La sombra del olvido', took place from 24 October to 21 December 2024 at GRIMM Gallery in London.

Framed dimensions: 85 x 75 cm
Unframed dimensions: 80 x 70 cm
