Janine Delaporte (1928-2013), a still life oil painting titled Brief en envelop from 1977, hand-signed and featuring a subtle date, sold with a frame by Galerie.
Description from the seller
Trompe-l'œil by the French artist Janine Delaporte, who was known for her exceptionally realistic paintings. In this work she demonstrates her mastery in creating optical illusions: the depicted letter looks so lifelike that it seems as if it could be picked up directly from the painting. This refined technique, where the boundary between reality and painting blurs, is characteristic of her oeuvre. A notable detail is that Delaporte has subtly incorporated her signature and dating into the painted postmark, making them seem almost hidden within the composition. The work testifies to her eye for detail, technical virtuosity, and sense of humor.
Dimensions: 19 x 24 cm
Dimensions with frame: 42 x 51 cm
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. We also make use of restorers from the industry association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
