Description from the seller
Jan Montyn (1924–2015) was a Dutch artist, poet and master printmaker, known for his refined graphic work and expressive visual language. Born in Oudewater, he largely autodidactically developed into an internationally valued artist. His work was strongly influenced by his war experiences, travels and interest in different cultures. Montyn's etchings, paintings and drawings are characterized by rich symbolism, subtle details and a poetic atmosphere, in which themes such as memory, spirituality, nature and human vulnerability play an important role.
Dimensions of work with frame: 57 x 67 cm
Dimensions of work without frame: 33 x 40 cm
The work is on display at our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay has a framing shop (this year their 85th anniversary) and a restoration studio. So if you would like to make use of these, of course we would be pleased to hear from you.
