Description from the seller
Henri Matisse (1869-1954) – Nu Bleu II
Silkscreen on Arches vellum paper with deckled edges, format 65 x 50 cm.
Provenance in three color passes, enriched by the use of graphite.
Signed and dated on the plate, hand-numbered HC ../50 at the bottom right
Dry stamp of publisher authenticity at the bottom left.
Edition by Brugière, limited to 50 not-for-sale copies, after the work of Henri Matisse.
From an artisanal workshop, this impression is pulled according to traditional methods, where each color is applied by hand, pass after pass. This deliberately slow pace, far from industrial production, guarantees a high standard of execution and a richness of material that can be perceived immediately.
This work reclaims one of the most iconic compositions by Henri Matisse, where the apparent simplicity of the motif reveals an absolute mastery of form and color. The deep blue, signature of this series, imposes a presence that is both graphic and timeless.
The quality of Arches paper, coupled with demanding printing work, gives this impression a texture and depth that are especially elegant. Each copy benefits from a unique character, enhanced by the handcrafted deckled edge.
Work in perfect condition, never framed, photo with framing provided as an example.
Careful shipping with secure packaging, international tracking, insurance and fast delivery.
