Wim IZAKS (Eibergen 1950 - Enschede 1989)
Beautiful original work by Izaks. Oil on canvas and in top condition
90 x 85 cm with frame and 70 x 70 cm canvas size.
Signed on the back
The work of Izaks belongs to the lyrical abstract expressionism. Izaks worked in studios in Enschede and in Eibergen. He had a high output and produced more than a thousand paintings and thousands of etchings, linocuts and drawings in diverse techniques such as oil pastel and acrylic paint. A large part of it is housed in Het Stedelijk Museum Schiedam. The Wim Izaks Foundation and the Wim Izaks Prize. The memory of Wim Izaks is kept alive by the Wim Izaks Foundation, which sells his works and from the proceeds publishes publications and awards biennially a stipend of 10,000 euros as a prize for painting to a young promising artist and a smaller cash prize of 1,500 euros to the other two nominees.
