Description from the seller
Ahmad Baldin was born in Suleimaniya, in the Kurdish part of Iraq. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence (Italy). Since 1990 he has lived and worked in the Netherlands.
His work is strongly inspired by the many aspects of migration: the pain of leaving one’s homeland, the power of memory, and the finding of a new life and hope in a new homeland. His landscapes and symbols convey displacement, longing, and the search for a new, livable world.
