Description from the seller
Achille Pace (Italy, 1923–2021)
“Juvenal” – pair of etchings
First half of the 2000s approximately
Important pair of original etchings by the Italian artist Achille Pace, a historic figure in Italian sign-based and abstract research of the late 20th century, and among the founders of the Gruppo Uno.
The works, both titled “Juvenal,” can be traced to the graphic production of the early 2000s and display the artist’s characteristic minimalist and poetic language, built through essential marks, spatial suspensions, and graphic symbols with strong compositional balance.
Technique: original aquatint on Fabriano paper.
The paper is identifiable with the historic Fabriano mark identifiable by the watermark with a crown in the form of a stylized “M” topped by a square cross.
Sheet dimensions: about 25 × 70 cm each.
Image dimensions:
etching with fish motif: about 49 × 13 cm;
etching with element resembling a lantern: about 48.5 × 18.5 cm.
The works are signed and pencil-numbered (20/30) at the bottom margins.
