Description from the seller
Yves Saint Laurent (1936–2008) – Bal Masqué (Venezianischer Maskenball)
Limited offset lithography – Seido Paris – Copy No. 174/300
An exceptionally decorative and rarely offered graphic work after a design by Yves Saint Laurent, one of the most important fashion designers of the 20th century. Published by Seido Paris in a limited edition, the present copy bears the edition number 174/300 as well as the embossed blind stamp “Seido Paris.” The artist’s signature is reproduced on the printing plate.
The motif shows two elegantly dressed figures in splendid Venetian masquerade costumes – a fascinating homage to theatre, opera, carnival, and the world of haute couture. With its unmistakable color palette, elegant linework, and timeless composition, this work powerfully fuses fashion history and art.
Graphic editions after designs by Yves Saint Laurent appear considerably rarer on the market than his fashion works. Especially the limited Seido-Paris editions are highly valued by collectors of French fashion graphics and decorative art and are in high demand due to their decorative impact.
This copy is suitable both as a high-quality collectible and as an extraordinary eye-catcher in a stylish interior.
