Comes with a book about Kuno Schiefer
Provenance:
- Heirloom/family estate of Kuno Schiefer
Kuno Schiefer (Stuttgart, 1948 – São José dos Campos, 1992) was a German painter and graphic artist who spent most of his life working in Brazil. His oeuvre includes paintings, drawings and printmaking, with his Brazilian period especially characterized by influences from tropical nature and the landscape. He was noticed early on and his work was exhibited in major galleries in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. From 1985 he worked alternately in Brazil and Berlin, which had a significant influence on his artistic development.
In his work Schiefer developed from figurative depictions of everyday objects to expressive, often abstract interpretations of vegetation and nature. His paintings are characterized by intense colors, a strong sense of light and an almost musical rhythm in composition and brushwork. Through the interplay between Europe and Brazil, a personal visual language emerged, in which he gradually loosened himself from figuration and moved toward more introspective and freer painting.
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, of course we would be pleased to hear from you.
