Henri Matisse, Nu bleu II, a modern silkscreen on Arches vélin paper, 65 × 50 cm, signed in the plate and numbered HC/50 hors commerce, edition by Brugière in France, sold by Galerie, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Henri Matisse (1869-1954) – Nu Bleu II
Screen print on Arches vellum paper with frayed edges, 65 x 50 cm. Proof in three color passes, enhanced by the use of graphite. Signed and dated on the plate, hand-numbered HC ../50 at the bottom right. Dry publisher’s authenticity stamp at the bottom left.
Edition of La Brugière, limited to 50 off-market copies, after the work of Henri Matisse.
From an artisanal workshop, this impression is pulled according to traditional methods, where each color is applied by hand, pass after pass. This deliberately slow pace, far from industrial production, guarantees a high standard of execution and a richness of material that is immediately perceptible.
This work reclaims one of the most iconic compositions of Henri Matisse, where the apparent simplicity of the motif reveals an absolute mastery of form and color. The deep blue, signature of this series, imposes a presence that is both graphic and timeless.
The quality of Arches paper, combined with demanding printing work, gives this impression a texture and depth that are particularly elegant. Each copy benefits from a unique character, reinforced by the artisanal frayed edge.
Artwork in perfect condition, never framed, photo with framing for example.
Careful shipping with secure packaging, international tracking, insurance and fast delivery.
