Large engraving titled "Le Sacre de Napoléon." Made by the French engraver Jean-Pierre-Marie Jazet (1788–1871), after the legendary oil painting by Jacques-Louis David (1748–1825) (he was Napoleon's official court painter). Lower right signed with a flower and ‘l’Abeille Impériale’.
The print shows the historic coronation ceremony that took place on December 2, 1804 at Notre-Dame in Paris. See the last six photos for the holes. In the image there are some white spots. Top left there is a crack that runs somewhat into the engraving. This has been restored, as visible on the back. Top right there are also two restored cracks in the margin. In the column above Napoleon there also appears to be a small restoration. See the photos of the restorations on the back.
