Örjan Wikström (1948) - Urban Shadows

This expressive lithograph by Swedish artist Örjan Wikström depicts two figures walking through a dramatic urban or architectural landscape. Strong dark shapes dominate the composition, contrasted by warm light breaking through in the background. The loose, gestural lines and muted palette create a mysterious and atmospheric impression.

Örjan Wikström was born in Stockholm in 1948 and studied at Konstfack in Stockholm and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He lives and works in both Stockholm and Paris. His work is particularly known for its use of light, silhouettes and distinctive figurative compositions.

His works are represented in collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the National Museum in Oslo, the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris and museums in Malmö, Norrköping and Kalmar.
