Giuseppe Migneco, Viaggio di nozze, 1970, original Artist Proof (P.A.) lithograph on paper, signed in pencil at the lower right, sheet about 60 × 75 cm, in discrete condition with patina and age-appropriate toning not affecting the printed area, with the publisher/printer’s dry stamp on the back.
Description from the seller
Giuseppe Migneco (Messina, 1908 – Milan, 1997), Honeymoon, 1970.
Original lithograph on paper, Artist's Proof (A.P.), signed in pencil at the lower right.
Work depicting a couple of spouses, a subject approached by Migneco through a strong formal synthesis and a figurative language of Expressionist origin. The figures are characterized by pronounced outlines, clear color fields, and a composition with strong visual impact.
Technique: lithograph on paper
Edition: Artist's Proof (A.P.)
Signature: signed in pencil at the lower right
Year: 1970
Sheet size: approximately 60 × 75 cm
On the reverse are handwritten annotations referring to the work, with the artist's name, the title Honeymoon, the indication “no. 120” and the phrase “A.P.”. There is also an embossed stamp of the publisher/printer.
Condition: the sheet shows a patina and yellowing compatible with age. In the upper part, a slightly more pronounced color alteration is visible, accompanied by a waviness of the paper support that is still acceptable. The origin of the alteration has not been established and is therefore not attributed with certainty to humidity.
This slight waviness mainly affects the white area of the sheet and does not compromise the printed area, where colors are well preserved. On the reverse there are also normal traces and signs of time and conservation. No tears or obvious gaps are detected.
The condition of the work, including the color alteration and the waviness of the support, is clearly documented in the attached photographs, which are an integral part of the description.
