Silke Leverkühne (born 1953 in Rendsburg) is a respected German painter and art professor who lives and works today in Düsseldorf. From 1971 to 1978 she studied at the renowned Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under prominent artists such as Norbert Kricke and André Thomkins. She completed her studies as a Meisterschüler of Alfonso Hüppi. She also spent a period of study at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. For many years she shared her knowledge at universities. After various guest professorships (including in Kassel and Hamburg), she was Professor of Painting at the University of Cologne from 2004 to 2020.
