Ivan Horyna (1937–2009) – V doline – 1965 (In the Valley)
Original limited-edition colour linocut by Slovak graphic artist and illustrator Ivan Horyna (1937–2009).
The work is titled “V doline” (“In the Valley”) and dates from 1965. It is numbered 163/200 in pencil in the lower left, titled “V doline” in pencil in the lower centre, and hand-signed and dated “Horyna Ivan 1965” in pencil in the lower right.
Ivan Horyna was a Slovak graphic artist and illustrator, known especially for expressive graphic works and linocuts. His compositions often combine strong contrasts, dynamic lines and stylised landscape motifs.
Another impression of this same work, “V doline” from 1965, is documented in the collection of the Tatra Gallery in Poprad, Slovakia, where it is catalogued as a colour linocut. This provides a useful institutional reference for the artist, title, date and technique.
