A rare etching of a young crow, crouching on the ground.
Created by Johan Hemkes (Schalsum 03.04.1894 – Bilthoven 03.12.1988), etcher, lithographer and draughtsman, who from 1921 worked as a drawing teacher at the Rijks H.B.S. in Ter Apel.
Etching on sturdy paper, 17 x 29 cm, bottom left in pencil 15/25 Young crow, bottom right J. Hemkes, bottom right in the plate JH32, behind a spotless cream mat behind glass in a sleek frame with a carrot-nut motif of 36 x 48 cm.
The detail photos have turned out too light.

Zeldzame ets van een jonge kraai, die ineengedoken op de grond zit.
Vervaardigd door Johan Hemkes (Schalsum 03.04.1894 – Bilthoven 03.12.1988), etser, lithograaf en tekenaar, die vanaf 1921 werkzaam was als tekenleraar op de Rijks H.B.S. te Ter Apel.
Ets op stevig papier, 17 x 29 cm, linksonder in potlood 15/25 Jonge kraai, rechtsonder J.Hemkes, rechtsonder in de plaat JH32, achter een smetteloos crème passe-partout achter glas in een strakke lijst met wortelnoten motief van 36 x 48 cm.
