September 1, 2026
(6th painting in the series “Distacco & autonomia”)
The black dot is me.
Above me, my mark — the language I have built over time — densifies into a compact, dominant mass that seems no longer able to contain itself and begins to drip downward.
Between that material and me, however, there remains a distance. The drips traverse space, some reach the edge of the canvas, but none reach me. Only a line reaches me: it is red.
At first glance it might seem like any other drip, but it is not. While everything else falls, that line unites. It is the only element that traverses the full distance and maintains contact between me and the mass from which I have detached.
Detachment exists, but it is not absolute. A thin line remains: the only bond.
BIO:
I am Pietro Fight, an Italian visual artist based in Milan. My research revolves around the writing of gesture: an abstract language made of signs, circles, fills and empties that repeat and transform from one work to another. Through my paintings I try to tell my way of seeing life and my artistic path, working on the relationship between density and breath, weight and space. Each work is unique and arises from a manual process made of rhythm, repetition and ever-changing variations.
