At the bottom margin the signature of Giovanni Cesare and Collignon's address, then an inscription, added by Giovanni Cesare or by the publisher, dedicating the print to Giovanni Antonio Filippini (Carmelite prior of San Martino ai Monti, elected in May 1648, who had commissioned the painting of this subject from Pietro Testa) and illustrating the story depicted. Excellent impression in the only state on heavy laid papier with the watermark “flower of the lily in a double circle.”
Sheet intact with wide margins as in the original. Vertical fold in the center.
