“Blue Patio” is a 100 × 70 cm painting by the contemporary artist Ernest García.

The work represents a Mediterranean-style courtyard built around an intense blue wall, which becomes the main chromatic protagonist of the composition. Among cacti, pots and a lush bougainvillea in bloom, a small open door leads to another room and visually extends the space.
In the foreground appears a small pond with greenish water, surrounded by large prickly pears that advance from the left side. On the other side, several columnar cacti in terracotta pots balance the composition. Above them, the abundant flowering of bougainvillea introduces an explosion of pinks, reds and corals that contrasts with the deep blue of the architecture.

The composition plays especially with the succession of spaces. The path guides the gaze from the pond to the central door and, through it, toward an interior illuminated in yellow and orange. This construction creates depth and makes the door a kind of picture within the picture.

The palette is articulated through intense contrasts between blues, greens, pinks, yellows and terracotta tones. The visible brushwork and the simplification of forms bring spontaneity to the scene, while the free and expressive use of color introduces echoes of Fauvism.
