Representation of Jesus seated at a table breaking bread to give it to his disciples on the road to Emmaus.
In the lower left, the name of the painter Titian, and in the lower right the name of the engraver Peter van Lisebetten, and in the center the measurements of the original painting and the plate number. In 1660, 246 plates appeared in the Theatrum pictorium, of which this is no. 71. The collection was formed under the direction of David Teniers (1610-1690) for Archduke Leopold Wilhelm's collection, which today is largely preserved at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. Here is a copy of the 1755 edition (Hollstein 7).
The painting is today located in the church of St. Louis en l'Île in Paris
