Description from the seller
Wifredo Lam – Oiseau du possible & Double personnage – complete pair of the two original color lithographs from XXe Siècle Nr. 52, 1979
Offered is a cohesive pair of two original color lithographs by Wifredo Lam (1902–1982) from the year 1979.
Both works were created specifically for the Wifredo Lam Special Edition of the renowned French art magazine XXe Siècle, Nouvelle Série, No. 52, July 1979.
The edition contains exactly two original color lithographs by Wifredo Lam – both are offered here together as a complete pair:
1. Oiseau du possible
2. Double personnage
The bibliographic description of the edition expressly confirms the two original color lithographs and lists them with these titles.
The two sheets display characteristic elements of Lam’s later visual language: highly abstracted anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures, mask-like forms and expressive line work, combined with strong black, red, white and ochre tones.

Notice / Disclaimer
The description, dating, and bibliographic attribution have been made to the best of our knowledge and belief based on the present sheets and available bibliographic sources for the XXe Siècle, Nouvelle Série, No. 52, July 1979 edition.
These are the two original color lithographs of the contemporary publication edition. The sheets are not hand-signed by Wifredo Lam and are not individually numbered. They are therefore explicitly not offered as a hand-signed or numbered limited edition.
No separate scholarly art-historical, conservation, or material-technical assessment has been conducted.
All photographs depict the actual sheets offered and are part of the condition description. Color tone, brightness, and contrast may differ slightly from the original due to lighting, camera, and screen display.
I am a private individual. Both lithographs come from my private collection. The sale is conducted as a private sale and not as part of a commercial activity.
