Description from the seller
Joseph Roques - ATLAS - History of mushrooms, edible and poisonous.
Chez Fortin, Masson et Cie, Paris, 1841.
Soft publisher's binding of the period, spine lacking in green half-cloth, the printed front board reproducing the typographic composition of the title page.
Second edition revised and expanded, corresponding here to the Atlas volume alone (without the volume of texts).
The work is richly illustrated with superb mycological plates finely hand-colored for the period, depicting with great accuracy various species (morels, polypores, boletes, chanterelles, agarics...).
- Dimensions: 24.4 x 31.4 cm
- Condition: A fine copy in its original state, the colors of the plates have remained very vivid and well contrasted. Some wear to the outer boards, foxing and light marginal damp stains on the initial text leaves. See photos for more details.
