Description from the seller
This vibrant and fantastical artwork by the world-famous Spanish artist Joan Miró (1893–1983) is a wonderful example of his characteristic surrealist visual language. The composition consists of a playful interplay of bold black lines, organic shapes and bright color fields in red, blue, green and yellow. The abstract figures seem to float and communicate with one another, while the subtle background structures and soft color accents in purple, orange and brown give the work extra depth. Miró, born in Barcelona, grew to become one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. His work is characterized by a distinctive combination of abstraction, symbolism and poetic imagination, with dreams, nature and the subconscious forming important sources of inspiration.
