These five hand-made-on-Murano glass cherries are small sculptures with an ironic, contemporary charm, where the deep red of the fruit meets the elegant line of the black stem.
Each cherry is lamp-worked in transparent ruby red solid glass, with a full, rounded shape and the characteristic shallow dimple at the point where the stem originates. Light passes through the cherry, bringing out brilliant reflections and casting a red shadow on the surface—a color reflection, almost. The stem, in glossy black glass, is hand-shaped and heat-fused to the fruit: it rises with a soft curve and ends in a small rounded tip, just as in a real cherry.
