Ermanno Barovero was born in Turin in 1956. After the Diploma di Liceo in 1974, he completed his studies in 1978 at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, where today he is a professor of Printmaking Techniques.

He began exhibiting in 1975. In 1978 he won the prize "Giacomo Grosso e Felice Casorati" of the Cassa di Risparmio di Torino and the Virgilio d'Argento at the Prize "Lubiam" in Sabbianeta...
