Description from the seller
The Face Ltd Edition print by Eduardo Guerra Hernández. He is a highly acclaimed Cuban contemporary painter and printmaker recognized for his surrealist narratives and master printmaking techniques. Born in Pinar del Río in 1967, his work blends lyrical storytelling with deep psychological and social allegories.
Here is a brief synopsis of his artistic profile:
• Signature Style & Themes: His art is deeply narrative, dreamlike, and surreal. He frequently depicts human figures, animals, and domestic objects intertwined in poetic, symbolic, and sometimes satirical scenes that comment on Cuban identity and universal human experiences.
• Technical Innovation: He is famous for a unique variation of collography/holography. He treats the printing press like a canvas, manipulating inks and tones directly on the plate and adding hand-painted details afterward, meaning every print in a series is a one-of-a-kind variation.
• Distinction: A graduate of Cuba's elite Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), he is a member of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC). His works have been exhibited internationally across Europe, Latin America, and the United States.
Frame size is 22cm x 18cm, image size is 12cm x 8.5cm. Professionally framed in UK. Number 23 of an edition of 35.
