Oil painting titled Nori by Andrea Lehmann (born 1975), a portrait in Realism from 2007, measuring 60 by 40 cm, signed by the artist and in an original edition, created in the Netherlands and sold by Galerie in good condition.
Description from the seller
This intriguing portrait of Andrea Lehmann shows a young woman with long, silvery-white hair, clothed in a lush, light-colored fabric that largely enfolds her body. Her large, penetrating eyes and mysterious smile form the centerpiece of the composition and lend the work a remarkable psychological depth. The soft shades of white, cream, light blue, and gray-green beautifully contrast with the dark background, causing the face and the voluminous draperies to stand out strongly. The artist combines a refined, almost realistic rendering of the face with a loose, expressive painting technique in the clothing and the background. This creates a fascinating tension between reality and imagination. The slightly concealed stance of the woman and her direct gaze evoke feelings of vulnerability, secrecy, and self-awareness. The artwork has a dreamy, almost fairy-tale quality and invites the viewer to uncover their own story behind this enigmatic presence.

2007
Andrea Lehmann was born in 1975 in Düsseldorf and is part of the notable contemporary artists within German figurative painting. From 1995 to 2002 she studied at the prestigious Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where she became a master student of the renowned artist Markus Lüpertz in 2000. Her work is characterized by a distinctive combination of realism, neoromanticism, surrealism, and influences from Japanese manga culture. Especially her mysterious female portraits and fantastical scenes, in which beauty and alienation are continually interwoven, have brought her international recognition. Lehmann draws inspiration from fairy tales, mythology, dreams, and the painting of old masters. Her figures often inhabit a puzzling world in which the boundary between reality and fantasy blurs. Through her refined painting technique, idiosyncratic use of color, and psychologically charged imagery, she creates artworks that can be both alluring and somewhat unsettling. Her work has been exhibited in prominent international art institutions and galleries, including the Saatchi Gallery in London and the Rubell Family Collection in Miami. Lehmann lives and works in Düsseldorf and has secured a recognizable place within contemporary European painting with her personal, fantastical visual language.
