AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Rare original impression realized by Andries Stock from a drawing by Jan Wildens, two artists of the Flemish Baroque, depicting the month of March, taken from a series dedicated to the twelve months, to which Andries Stock contributed a total of four plates, together with Jacob Matham and Hendrick Hondius. Published by the same Hendrick Hondius in 1614.
An impression trimmed to the framing, on laid paper, in good condition after restoration of small abrasions and lacunae, a yellowish stain on the right and the upper margin irregularly trimmed with a loss of 1-2 mm in the central part (see photo).
In the bottom left "Ioannes Wildens inuentor", at the center "Andreas Stockius Sculpsit", on the right "Henr. Hondius excudebat"; beneath the image the title centered, on the two sides the Latin inscription of two verses on two columns "Martius adiungi...//...consulit ille sua"; in the lower left corner the series number "3".
A farmyard on a rainy winter day with peasants working in a vineyard, two figures on horseback and others on foot covered by heavy cloaks; in the background a town and hilly landscape.
