Nicolaes De Bruyn (1571-1656) - Hyems

Beautiful original plate in a late edition by Nicolaes de Bruyn from Marten de Vos, depicting a winter landscape with a woman on a sleigh drawn by horses, skaters in the background, some of whom have fallen, others putting on their skates on the left; city in the background.
Excellent specimen with good margins, on heavy nineteenth-century paper, in excellent condition (see photos).
At the bottom left "Marten de vos in", in the center "N. de Bruyn fe.", below the image title in the center, on the sides Latin inscription of two verses on two columns "Aeolus ut Borea...//...fata vices".
