Le Yack, last drink - Hand signed, a 40 by 40 cm giclée on canvas in a limited edition of 20, signed by the artist, produced in France and sold direct from the artist, dating from 2020 or later, in realist style and excellent condition, supplied ready to frame with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
A luxury hotel bar, late at night. A woman in a black tuxedo and bow tie is alone at the counter, a glass of whiskey in hand. In front of her, the mirror—and in the mirror, her reflection looks back at her. Not her: her reflection gazes at her, with an intensity the real profile does not possess. The green library lamps cast their warm light on the lined bottles. An empty ashtray. Nothing else.
Le Yack creates a tension between the woman and her mirrored double, which is the true subject of the painting. The reflection is more present, more frontal, more determined. Which is which? The black tuxedo borrowed from masculine tradition speaks to emancipation—and the glass of whiskey alone at the bar at this hour says something about the price she has paid. It is a painting about strength and its inseparable solitude.
