Roger Mühl, born on December 20, 1929, in Strasbourg and died on April 4, 2008, in Mougins, was a French painter, draftsman, and sculptor.
He enrolled at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Strasbourg, graduating in 1948, then moved to the Territoire de Belfort. He settled in Montreux-Château in 1954 and held his first Paris exhibition at the Galerie de Paris in 1960. He subsequently exhibited in Geneva, London, Milan, Dallas, Cologne, Stuttgart, Tokyo, Kyoto, Belfort, and New York. He worked mainly on the French Riviera. He was regarded as a figurative painter and a painter of Provence and its landscapes, but above all as a painter of light and atmosphere; his impasto technique helped establish perspectives suggested by color alone.
